[Well! It's been a while since Ishimaru's been around on the network, but with the weather being what it is, it doesn't feel right to not say anything at this point, either. And besides, he's been in Kanto for quite some time now; it'll be good to maybe speak to some of those still in Johto that he hasn't seen in a while. He's still not entirely used to this whole "missing other people" business, but he supposes that's part of the tradeoff for having friends.]

With the weather being so bad and only looking to get worse from here, I have a suggestion that may or may not be viable - several of you may remember the swarm of Bloobers from earlier in the year, correct? A lot of us obtained Bronzongs during that incident, if I remember correctly!

[...okay, where the hell is this going - ]

Bronzongs seem able to bring rain from other places; they can supposedly open portals and do it! I've never directly witnessed that part, but obviously they do bring a lot of rain with them when they're determined enough!

Wherever they got it from, though - would it be possible, do you think, for them to open those portals and put some of our rain over there? It might help mitigate some of the damage, anyway...

[Well, that was...surprisingly sound, logic-wise, for a plan that literally amounts to "WE SHOULD TAKE THE STORM AND PUT IT SOMEWHERE ELSE."]

Either way, if I haven't spoken to you for a while - I'm going to ask that you check in with me and verify that you're all right and sufficiently prepared for what's about to come, particularly if you're in one of the coastal cities! Even if I don't know you or you're new to the area, I hope that you're doing all right!

Hopefully today is a good and productive day for you, and if not...well, I would say "perhaps tomorrow will be better" but that much is questionable!

[...And you know what, for all of Ishimaru's bizarreness, this post was just inexplicably reassuring to hear. Maybe it just broke up the tension of sitting in the inn and listening to the wind howl and the radio warnings play and the people in the lobby get progressively more nervous. Maybe shouty cliches are exactly what the situation calls for. There's really nothing they can do to make tomorrow not happen, after all, so why the hell not?

Whatever the actual reason is, the post makes Walter laugh enough that he looks and sounds inappropriately relaxed in his response.]

Goldenrod here, just waiting around for hell to come down! Convenient of you to show up, I was thinking of asking Naegi if he'd like me to check on his house while I'm out tomorrow. Is anyone holding down the fort?

[Relaxed is good! Or at the very least, relaxed is not panicked which is...good...]

I don't know if anyone is or not - a good amount of us came out to Kanto to meet with a friend, and...

I think Celes-kun is there. You should check on her just the same, though - I don't think she'll appreciate it, but tell her that I sent you and she should at least let you verify that she's in one piece!

There'll be things that need doing down by the water as the storm comes in, and always short a pair of hands. Better mine than one frailer. There's always one or two too damned stubborn to leave for high ground until the water's up to their waists.

[shrugs.] It'll be exciting, besides!

...Well, if you say so, though that's not how I would put it. Be careful, either way!

What about you - have you been well otherwise?

Well enough! The last time we spoke...I think it's since then, that comrades of mine appeared in New Bark. I came to Goldenrod to entertain them, but the weather, ah... [did the thing.]

While it's not a terrible idea, I can think of a few problems. First of all, it's entirely possible that the ability of Bronzongs to do this is one way. Attempting to do so would just make the situation worse if that's the case.

Secondly, if we can do this, what would be the effects on the local climate? We might mitigate the storm now only to cause a crippling drought later on.

And let's not forget how many Pokemon we'll actually need to make a significant dent even if we can solve the other two problems.

Bottom line, I'd think this is something we should run by the experts. If we could get in contact with one or preferably more than one of those Professors, that would help.

Hopefully whatever happens won't affect you too badly; it's likely there will be property damage, but I trust that you and your friends will be safe.

Do you know if the Professors are accessible to us or not? I've never really spoken to the ones here!

[Kind of odd that he never spoke to Professor Elm, but she shrugs it off. Maybe he left New Bark too quickly and never went to the lab.]

That's a pretty good question. I know Professor Elm lives in New Bark, so if anyone's around there maybe they can meet with him... I don't know anyone who's there, though. Professor Oak resides in Kanto, I believe, but I'm not sure of the town specifically. Probably whichever one you arrive in if you choose to take the ferry.

That's the thing about rain: you can't put it anywhere besides where it is.

[Blake half-shrugs.] Though, that goes for the real world. Could be worth a shot. Weirder shit happens here.

[He's inside, getting supplies together as the rain pounds on the windows. His Snubbull is trying without much success to secure a small tarp around a quietly alarmed but patient Mareep.]

Been a while, huh? I'm about ready. Figure I'll hole up with everybody else if it gets worse.

[The tarp slides off the Mareep and onto the floor. Steve waves her arms and snub!s in exasperation.]

And keep the sheep inside.

How about you, kid? You been staying out of trouble?

We'll endure it. [I mean nobody dies here so hey!] And what of you? All of you, you're keeping out of the storm's way, ah?

We're trying to! I know Naegi-kun and I are remaining in town until the storm has run its course; we're still travelling Kanto for the time being - we're in Cerulean City for now, so it's less of a threat here, at least!

That would be Pallet Town - a friend of mine and I are in Kanto now, though we're currently in Cerulean. We were meeting someone here when the warning hit and thought it best to not go anywhere beyond that for now.

[Oh, hey! He hasn't seen you in a while, has he. From the look of it, he's not displeased at seeing you now, either.]

I'm glad to hear that you're prepared, Lieutenant Blake - and you're right, it's been a while!

I'm doing all right for the time being - and of course I'm staying out of trouble, I wouldn't be deserving of my title if I slipped up so easily!

[ Man, this weather sucks and Naegi wishes they could be out there traveling instead of staying holed up at the hotel. But at least he's in the company of a good friend and the vending machine in the lobby is stocked with cherry vanilla coke. ]

Blake's tone is a little quieter, his expression more low-key than usual. Lately he's been thinking about all the time he's spent inspiring fear.

The salute pulls a half of a smile out of him.] Title? Are you a knight or something?

[He goes to try to get the tarp over the sheep. Thumbs help in this kind of work.] Wait, nah, you're Japanese. So you'd be a samurai.

Well it's unlikely anyone's there, either. We might have to table talking to the Professors for now. Still, we need some form of expert to run your idea by before we give it serious thought.

[That was an awfully convoluted way of saying "hey friends are you okay?" but then again, it's Ishimaru.]

We're preparing ourselves for the brunt of the storm, my Alakazam said he'd do his best to protect the house from getting too much damage, but I'm prepared to rebuild if that happens. [Not that she's ever built anything before, but it can't be that hard, learning new things!!]

Keep your wits about you either way. And Naegi, tell him I cautioned him the same.

[...mm] Does a storm really pose much danger to buildings like these? By the shore's one thing, but - you've seen weather like this before, haven't you?

[God bless you Ishimaru, that's probably the best idea Jimmy's ever heard. He's never seen a Bronzong nor does he really know what they are capable of, but if he says it can be done then it must be true!]

I'm in Goldenrod right now with Joker. We're gonna be here with the circus tent making sure nothing happens to it! It's been a long time since I've seen any really bad weather, so I hope it doesn't get too bad or anything.

Maybe afterwards if the tent's alright I'll go out with some of my team to see if anyone else needs help! Since this city is so close to the water, and all.
