[You know, it's probably really good that this is via text, there's a lot less volume and screaming which no one needs right now. BUT HE'S DOING IT IN SPIRIT...]

i don't know who it was he had a mask on. and yeah i'm okay but my body feels like crap.

[Not gonna comment on his mental state right now.]

Why are you apologizing? I'm not mad.

It's not your fault; it's whoever attacked you that's to blame for this.

i don't know. i just feel stupid for not being careful.

That's something I'd like everyone to do in general, if I'm going to be honest. Whether you were or not doesn't make this your fault, though. Whoever did this decided that they were going to hurt people - that puts the burden of responsibility on them, not you.

What happened, though? What do you mean by not being careful?

i didn't have any of my pokemon out with me and you know how the goldenrod alleys can get at night. the guy came up from behind and i didn't have a chance to get to my pokeballs.

[He can't bring himself to say he knows exactly why he was attacked. Not right now, anyway.]

[It takes him a moment to respond; normally he'd yell, or say something about how he really should be more careful then and make sure it doesn't happen again, but that's not...

It's not something he should be saying, is it? So just...let him try to think for a second.]
